As most companies and nonprofits do, WEDU PBS releases to the public an annual report: a year-in-review guide complete with company information and financial details. This Community Impact Report shares details about the local and national programming that WEDU PBS provides, as well as community events and partnerships from the past fiscal year. The study below shares the FY21 report.
Being a community resource means making your company known to the public, and part of that includes introducing your staff and Boards to your community. WEDU lists all members of its Senior and Executive staffs, as well as the sitting members of both its Board of Directors (BOD) and the Community Advisory Board (CAB), within its annual impact report. It also shares a letter from the WEDU PBS President and CEO, Paul Grove.
Education is of course a huge part of WEDU PBS’ mission, and the impact report aims to share that mission with the community. I include visually appealing imagery and copy to inform readers about the exciting and educational free events and programs that WEDU PBS provides.
As a not-for-profit entity, WEDU PBS is happy to follow established guidelines for transparency in financials. Some of this financial information, readily available to the public, is made easily accessible within the Impact Report; it is my job to present it in an aesthetically-pleasing way. Also included on this spread is general membership information, benefits, and statistics, plus photos of donors and PBS members.
The front and back cover aesthetics are up to me, as long as they follow WEDU and PBS national branding. I employed a mosaic style using the established branding colors, including photography from WEDU PBS events and the Studios building adorned in giant posters of PBS programming. I also included location details and social media information for easy digital following.
